SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY

Aasheesh Kolli is an assistant professor at Penn State and a post-doc researcher at VMware Research. His interests are in computer systems architecture; his work spans processor architectures, programming interfaces, and systems software. His recent research focuses on new opportunities and challenges arising from integrating emerging persistent memory technologies -- such as Intel's 3D XPoint -- into modern computing systems. He received his Ph.D. (2017) and MS (2013) from the University of Michigan and his BE (2011) from BITS- Pilani. His work has resulted in multiple research papers, including a best paper nomination, at premier computer architecture research venues like ISCA, ASPLOS, and MICRO.
